On Sunday we will celebrate and honor TUMC’s graduating high school seniors.
We will look back on the journey we have all shared together as a church family, and we will cheer these graduates onward, towards that next, great step into an unknown future. Many of us have watched these incredible individuals grow from baptism to confirmation, and now… into a different kind of confirmation, where every step taken is a chance to affirm their faith and respond to God’s grace.
Jeremiah 29:11 says: “I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.”
The Jerusalem exiles in Babylon heard this message during a very uncertain time. They had experienced grief, loss, and the loneliness of living in a foreign land far from home. God’s message was a powerful reminder that God has everything under control and will take care of us. No matter how uncertain the future may seem, we affirm our faith in God by hoping for the future instead of fearing it.
I invite you to join me on Sunday at the 11:00AM worship service in the Sanctuary to celebrate our graduates and share this same message of hope with them— that God has plans for us, plans to prosper without harm, plans of hope, and a glowing future.
See you this Sunday!
