As this year’s intergenerational service experience to McCurdy Methodist Ministries in the Española Valley of New Mexico gets into full swing, team leader Alice Maxie reports that all is well with the onsite team.
TUMC has partnered with our neighbors at McCurdy for over ten years, and this week you sent twenty-nine team members, ages 8 and up, to worship, learn, and serve. As you read this, our team members have begun their third day of service and are currently painting, weeding, and meeting the maintenance needs at the McCurdy school.
Meanwhile, back here in Austin, you’re invited to join them in their service right now by praying for the people who have taken this trip.
Take a moment to pray for their health and strength, their work and worship. Pray for the people they meet on this faith journey, the students and teachers at the McCurdy School, and all those who live in the pueblos and towns of the Española Valley. Pray for all of God’s people in this place, that they might be woven together in love for one another and for God.
Together, let’s continue to join God’s wondrous work here and now—whether we find ourselves in Austin or the Española Valley.
