This week in our email newsletter we had the opportunity to include a devotional written by one of our members. Check it out below >>
When I was a child, my grandmother taught me to memorize Bible verses. I remember Joshua 1:8-10, “Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Grandma told me, when she could not sleep she tried to recall all the passages committed to memory. The passages comforted her and helped her sleep.
Now that I’m 95, I find myself alone and quiet for many of my days. I experience the same calming effect from Bible teachings. The Bible has long served as a powerful force for the anxiety that being alone can bring.
