“I’m a believer,” someone said to me recently, “I just don’t believe God gets involved with money.”
What do you believe? Perhaps you know that Jesus spoke about money more times than any topic except the Kingdom of God. Sixteen of thirty-eight parables are concerned with money and possessions. In the Gospels, one of ten verses (288 in all) deal directly with the subject of money. The Bible offers 500 verses on prayer, fewer than 500 verses on faith, but more than 2,000 verses on money and possessions.
That’s why I believe we need to take this seriously.
The Thanksgiving Tithe can help. What would it mean for us as Christians and for our capacity as a congregation if every one of us gave 10% to God this November? One month.
Pray through the invitation and see what God leads you to do.
As rain fell from the sky, so may we rain generosity and thankfulness to all around us. I’ll see you in church,
