Learn more about Membership at Tarrytown United Methodist Church.
A member of The United Methodist Church is a servant of Christ on mission in the local and worldwide community. This includes family life, daily work, social activities, responsible citizenship, the stewardship of resources, and attitudes toward other persons. When persons unite with the United Methodist church, they take on a desire to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ with the help and encouragement of the God’s Spirit and each other.
Each member has opportunities be a witness for Christ in the world, a light and leaven in society, a reconciler in a culture of conflict and a voice of compassion on behalf of the agony and suffering of the world.
New membership classes are offered periodically and are a great chance for you to learn more about United Methodist beliefs and history, as well as available programs and opportunities for worship, spiritual formation, and service. These conversations are informal and offer a time of fellowship where you can meet Tarrytown United Methodist Church (TUMC) clergy and staff, as well as other members of the church.
