“So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for your Creator. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what God wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.” —Romans 12.1 (MSG)
Our Youth Ministry is a community of faith that comes together to improve ourselves and each other through fellowship, discipleship, and sharing the love of God with the World around us through everything we do.
Community is the foundation of our Youth Ministry, and it shows when you read our mission statement. Sure there’s a lot more to it than that, but at its heart, a church is a community of people who struggle together through the bad times and celebrate together through the good, all the while trying to live life the way Jesus intended and worship God through everything they do.
Our ministry is designed to engage students on three levels:
The first level is Fellowship. We love to play. Whether it’s dodgeball, frisbee golf or a lock-in, we want to hang out with each other and have fun! This includes paintball outings, movie nights and bowling contests, scavenger hunts, amazing races, and good old-fashioned board-game nights. We want to enable an attitude of healthy fellowship–learning to play and have fun with your community.
Next, we encourage our students to begin the journey of Discipleship. Whether it’s through a small group discussion or studying the Bible, knowing your history, what you believe and why you believe it are all important parts of being a follower of Jesus Christ. Faith is a journey and one of the only ways to can grow and mature is to study and discuss with others. We offer several opportunities for small group discussion and study on Sunday mornings and throughout the week.
Finally, we try to provide our student Disciples with opportunities to experience love through acts of Service. Whether it’s a mission trip to Guatemala or something simple like serving lemonade to our church family, we want to teach our youth that whatever you’re doing it’s possible to serve others and share the love of God with the world around us.
